Rebut — Terms of Service

Effective 29 July 2026.

These terms govern your use of the Rebut app and service. By creating an account you agree to them.

The most important term, stated plainly. Rebut is a drafting and analysis tool, not a law firm and not a chargeback-recovery service. It does not guarantee that you will win any dispute, and it does not submit anything to your payment processor or the card networks on your behalf. You review, you decide, you submit. Win-likelihood scores are estimates based on reason codes and the evidence you record — they are not predictions and not advice.

1. What the service does

Rebut lets you record chargebacks, analyse them against card-network reason codes, track deadlines, and generate draft response letters. If you connect a payment processor with a read-only API key, it can import your disputes so you do not have to enter them manually.

2. Your account

You must provide an accurate email address and keep your password secure.
You are responsible for activity under your account.
You must be at least 18 and using Rebut for a business purpose.
Do not attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the service, or circumvent usage limits.

3. Processor credentials

If you connect a processor, you confirm you are authorised to use that account and that key. We ask for read-only restricted keys and the service is built never to need more. You remain responsible for the scope of any key you supply, and you can revoke it at your processor at any time — doing so simply stops imports.

4. AI-generated content

Draft letters are produced by an automated language model and may contain errors, omissions or statements that do not match your records. You must read and correct any draft before using it. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of anything you submit to a processor or card network. Do not submit a drafted letter you have not verified.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Rebut includes a free allowance. Paid subscriptions unlock higher limits and additional features.
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or Google, not by us, under their terms. We never receive your payment details.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in your Apple or Google account settings — we cannot cancel for you.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us.
Prices may change; we will give notice in the app before a change affects you.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Rebut to make false or fraudulent statements to a processor or card network, to misrepresent a transaction, or for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate an account we reasonably believe is being used this way.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Rebut running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, failures or reasons outside our control. Deadlines in your disputes are set by your processor and the card networks — Rebut's reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee, and you remain responsible for meeting them.

8. Your data

Handled as described in our Privacy Policy. You keep ownership of what you enter. You can export or delete it, and account deletion is available in the app.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, nor for lost disputes, lost revenue, lost data or missed deadlines. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Termination

You may stop using Rebut and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice.

11. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in the app before taking effect. Continuing to use Rebut after that means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict of laws rules.
